Product definition

What Is an IONM Cable?

An IONM cable is a system-specific cable, leadwire or interconnect assembly used within an intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring connection path.

Depending on the monitoring platform and modality, an assembly may carry EEG, EMG, stimulation or other project-defined connections between electrodes, interface modules and acquisition equipment. The cable does not independently perform monitoring or clinical interpretation.

Available constructions

IONM Cable and Interconnect Configurations

Final configuration depends on monitoring modality, platform architecture, connector map, electrode connection and workflow requirements.

EEG Interconnects

Project-defined channel assemblies for compatible intraoperative EEG connections.

EMG Lead Systems

Equipment-specific connections for compatible EMG electrodes and acquisition channels.

Stimulation Leads

Interconnect assemblies developed for the approved stimulation interface and system requirements.

Multi-Channel Harnesses

Grouped signal or interface connections with documented mapping, labels and branch structure.

Design priorities

IONM Cable Design for Multi-Modal System Integration

Modality and Channel Mapping

Each connection is documented by modality, channel, contact assignment and interface destination to support controlled assembly and verification.

Signal-Path Separation

Core arrangement and shielding options are evaluated according to adjacent channels, grounding and system-level interference requirements.

Connector Identification

Keying, labels, colors and molded identifiers can distinguish compatible interfaces within a multi-connection workflow.

Cable Routing and Strain Relief

Branch layout, flexibility and transition geometry are developed for the approved equipment arrangement and handling requirements.

Platform integration

IONM Cable Compatibility Is Platform- and Modality-Specific

IONM platforms may differ in connector geometry, contact mapping, channel identification, grounding, stimulation interfaces and electrode connections. Similar-looking cables are not necessarily interchangeable.

Provide the exact platform model, modality, compatible part number, interface drawing, connector photos, channel map or physical sample for review.

Third-party brand names, when supplied by a customer, are used only as interface references. Compatibility and intended use must be verified for the exact platform and approved assembly.

Buyer questions

IONM Cable FAQs

What is an IONM cable used for?

It provides a system-specific connection among compatible electrodes, interface modules and intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring equipment.

Which modalities can an IONM cable support?

Depending on the platform and approved assembly, connections may be developed for EEG, EMG, stimulation or other project-defined modalities.

Are IONM cables compatible across different monitoring platforms?

No. Connector geometry, channel map, grounding, identification and electrode interfaces must be checked for the exact platform.

Can IONM channel count and branch layout be customized?

Yes. Channel mapping, branch structure, labels and connectors can be developed to an approved OEM drawing or reference sample.

Can an IONM cable be reusable or disposable?

Either construction may be possible when intended use, materials, packaging and any cleaning or single-patient requirements are defined and validated for the finished product.

What information is required for an OEM IONM cable project?

Provide the platform model, modality, connection function, connector map, electrode interface, dimensions, materials, labels, packaging and applicable verification criteria.
